The Long Beach Police Historical Society was founded in 1995 and it was incorporated in October 1997 as a 501 (C) 3, Non-profit Public Benefit Corporation.
Our Mission is to collect artifacts, badges, equipment, books, documents, historical narratives, photographs, firearms, etc., pertaining to the Long Beach Police Department and to preserve, exhibit and share the history of the Long Beach Police Department with the citizens of this city through educational programs and the development of the Long Beach Police Museum.
In January of 2008, we produced a Salute to the Chief of Police Centennial, 1908-2008, marking 100 years of Chiefs of the Long Beach Police Department. Our organization has published two books: the Long Beach Police Historical Society Commemorative Pictorial, and the History of the City of Long Beach California Police Badge.
